Dozens avid skiers will before long be dusting down their ski trousers and dashing forth hunting for the largest snow conditions.
And doubtless the impact of your carbon footprint will be about as far down the list of holiday essentials as a Christmas tree after the Christmas holidays.
Only last year, a sluggish snowfall was in the newspaper headlines and tourists were terrified about the bits of snow dissolving nearly as soon as they put down.
Skiing business Chalet1802, placed at the bottom of Monte Bianco in Chamonix the Alps, is one of the first independent businesses to go carbon negative and give skiers an environmentally friendly alternative whilst organising their ski trip.
Chalet1802 owner Phoenyx said: Last winter was quite a surprise with the hottest wintertime in 50 years in France. Mountain ski fields like La Grave, La Grave and Les Grands Montets suffered. It was balmy and the snowfall didnt last so a lot of the early winter snowboarding season in the French Alps was limited. We selected to become carbon neutral to help preserve the skiing resort.
Phoenyx said: We are not attempting to dictate to punters but I consider it is of import to provide the clients the option without augmenting the cost of the trip. If the customer book with us they may more than off set their carbon footprint and we take in the additional costs. Of course we still have a sauna and a hot tub – people want lavishness but not at the expense of the surroundings, so we looked at methods of lessening the results of a guest flying over here for a snowboarding holiday.”
