Jumping is a type of general fitness. General fitness in its turn is a subtype of physical fitness which is defined as a state of health and well-being. Another name of jumping is leaping. It has several variations/forms. Each variant differs from the rest of them by manner of foot transfer. Let’s start from the simplest one: ‘jump’ is jumping from and landing on two feet.
‘Leap’ is another form of jumping from one foot the other foot. ‘Assemble’ means jumping from one foot and landing on two feet. ‘Hop’ is jumping on one and the same foot. And the last but not least is ’sissonne’ which means jumping from two feet and landing on one foot.
According to general definition of jumping during this process our body is being propelled through the air along a ballistic trajectory. All forms of jumping mentioned above are governed by basic physical laws of ballistic trajectories.
The brightest examples of jumping are shown by animals. One might be surprised why we talk about animals. Animals behave naturally. They don’t think before they start jumping but at the same time they show excellent ways how to do this. A lot of exercises for physical fitness are taken from animal world.
